Anthea Carpenter Procter

Anthea was born and brought up in South Wales, where she was encouraged by her father, a regular on the amateur circuit, to take in the theatre. Consequently, Anthea developed a love for acting at the age of just 8, when she appeared as the fairy godmother in a spoof version of Cinderella. Fascinated with accents and quirky characters, she often entertained her family with impersonations of Peggy from Hi De Hi and Mrs Overall from the famous Acorn Antiques. Anthea originally trained and worked as a Drama & English teacher before finally take the plunge in 2005 & set off to London to pursue her life long dream of becoming a professional actor where she trained with The London Centre for Theatre Studies aka The Actor’s Company and, more recently, with ICAT (The Independent Centre for Actor Training), where she also teaches.

Since graduating, she has worked as a presenter, a voice over artist (The Voice of Many Colours) having done radio ads, animations and film narratives and extensively as a corporate role-player, as well as acting on the west end stage and in film for BBC Wales and has recently made her directing debut in both film and stage.

Once likened to Rita Haywood, Anthea is an amazingly versatile actress & a great character actor with a rare gift for doing incredibly convincing accents. She also has a beautiful singing voice.

When not acting, Anthea teaches acting and voice at ICAT (The Independent Centre for Actor Training) and offers private tuition in English, Acting and Vocal Coaching, particularly in accent and dialect. She also does the odd bit of supply teaching in Primary Schools.

In her spare time, you can find her either on a yoga mat, at the gym, cinema or theatre or chilling with her family up North or down in South Wales.
